The Industrial Relations Society of the Northern Territory is part of a network of similar societies across Australia and the world. It is also an affiliate of the Industrial Relations Society of Australia.
The aims of the Society are to encourage participation, foster discussion, research, education and publication in the field of industrial relations.
The Society holds occasional functions at which topical items are presented and discussed. In the past, seminars and training programs have been organised for the benefits of the members. An annual convention is also organised, which is held to be the most interesting and enjoyable of all Society conventions throughout Australia.
A newsletter is published on a regular basis providing information on industrial issues and activities of Societies in other states and territories.
The Society is managed by a Committee elected annually by members. The Committee comprises representatives from employers, trade unions, government , professional/academic areas and other interested parties.
